End of July Is Packed With Local Events July 23rd is the Rockaway Street Dance. At the Garibaldi Museum, see Will Dixon a local woodcarver and storyteller. For
a little shopping, Tillamook will hold its Moonlight Madness on the 29th My favorite is Tillamook Northwest
Classics Fly-In/Cruise-In - everything classic is at the Naval Air Museum on July 30th. July 30-31 is Garibaldi
Days with parade, vendors, and beer garden. You can also reserve a seat on the Oregon Coast Scenic Railroad Dinner Train -
a 3 hour excursion along Tillamook Bay and a four course meal. Plan ahead so you can visit it all.

Kayak the Local Coastal Waterways Found a great Eco Guide Service that provides flat-water tours on Tillamook County's local waterways. Most people are
know are getting a bit frustrated with our cooler (and wetter) weather this summer. Still, who wants to waste summer
days? Those raised in the Northwest can't always handle being out in the full sun anyway. Solution - go kayacking.
Get a little exercise, view fabulous wetland fowl and slough life without baking. A water proof hat and a windbreaker
will do you fine. I have added kayacktillamook.com to my recommended sites list.

Dory Festival, 18th century sailing, beach fireworksOn of the best weekends of the summer. Pacific City celebrates it's 52nd annual Dory Days fewstival with prade, boats,
vintage cars and artisan fair. The Garibaldi Museum reenacts 18th century sailors and ropemaking (the other kind of
hemp festival !). Rockaway Beach has a Beach Fire Festival and Concert. Hard to chose.

Low Tides = Fantastic BeachcombingNow is the time for beachcombers to come visit. At these low tides, you can wonder through the cliff tunnel, accessing
the arch rocks, discovering the rarely uncovered sealife. Be sure to review tide schedule so you know the time of the
lowewst tides. It can be frustrating to show up only to discover lowest tide has already passed for the day.

Choosing Quiet RelaxationAt Clifftop Inn, we try to give you the best of both worlds when you stay with us. This website offers a wealth of
information on all the activities readily available to you in the area. From museums and shops to outdoor challenges
and festivals, your days can be action-filled. And when you come back to Clifftop, we want to offer you an escape into a low-key,
quiet seclusion. With almost everyone heavily into technology, intensity and all that white noise there are rare times in
our lives when we can really get-a-way. We want to offer you that 'time-away'. Moments of true rest and an enveloping
ocean life ambiance. At Clifftop you can actually feel the pounding of the surf at high tide and even feel and smell
the salt spray as the wind carries it upwards. And the sounds are amazing: the eagle screech, seals barking and waves
crashing. This is why we do not have televisions in the rooms (our eagle's nest look-out with a 180 degree view of the
sea does offer a television with recording and large tape selection) and the telphone is available for your use in the office.
We have found it almost impossible to prevent one guest from hearing another guest's TV unnless volume control is so
low as to irritate each guest listiening to a show. If we sound-proof more than we have, you would not be able to experience
the ocean and wildlife as you can with us now. So look to us for a true escape from the hecticness of everyday life.
Enjoy alternating the intensity of Oregon Coast activites with rest at our Pacific Ocean front retreat.

An Eagle's View At The Cliff TopWe love how every sense is touched here at the Clifftop Inn. My favorite is the smell of the ocean. I think it's
best early in the morning when the ocean mist still surrounds the top of our private cliff. Most people like the beautiful
sunny days for lying on the beach or seeing the Pacific go on for miles. Me, I like the storms. I want the ocena spray
blowing in my face and hear the crashing of those huge waves against the rock. And after the storm comes the best beach combing
discoveries. This is our first blog to share with you. We look forward to writing more on a regular basis.
